STEERING WHEELS

From the day the business started, each and every steering wheel we’ve made has been made by hand. We take a pride in our avoidance of hi-tech gadgetry. We don’t profile our wheels with lasers, we cut or press them. A robotic arm doesn’t spray our varnish on; it’s applied, coat-by-coat by hand with a beautifully effective low-tech brush. To some this might sound old-fashioned and inefficient. Sure, it takes time, but that’s what we do - we take our time, so that every handmade steering wheel leaving our workshop in Thruxton is worthy of carrying the Moto-Lita name. We wouldn’t have it any other way, and we wouldn’t supply you with any lesser degree of quality.

Classic Wood Rim Wheels

Classic 4 (3-bolt) Diameters: 14" (35.5cm), 15" (38cm) The Classic 4 (3-bolt) steering wheel is specially designed to fit on to a 3-bolt centre without the need for an additional boss kit. They are available in wood or leather finish, please state in notes which finish you would prefer. *Please note: Also available as a special wheel in walnut or mahogany rim £275 each (plus VAT and delivery), please contact us by telephone or email to order a walnut or mahogany rim. Lead time on these rims is usually 6-8 weeks *A special 3-bolt polished billet centre cap is available on request. Please contact us for details.

Classic 4 - Laminate Rim (Riveted) Diameters: 14" (35.5cm), 15" (38cm), 16" (40.5cm) The Classic Four range is ideally suited for earlier classic cars dating from 1930’s to the late 1950’s. They are available with a variety of rim styles; very often these wheels can be supplied with bosses which will accept the original horn controls. Alternatively, they may be supplied with a horn. This is also available in Mahogany, Walnut and Leather.

Derrington - 3 Equal Spokes Diameters: 15" (38cm), 16" (40.5cm) As suppliers of steering wheels to VW Derrington Ltd, we are able to offer the original specification steering wheels.

Eagle 3 - Laminate Rim (Riveted) Diameters: 14" (35.5cm) The Eagle Threes wheels are offered with either a wood or leather rim. All can be supplied with a horn control cap of your choice.

Mark 10 - Laminate Rim (Riveted) Diameters: 15" (38cm) The Mark Ten Wood Rim wheels are offered with a classic riveted wood finish. All can be supplied with horn control cap or your choice. Also available in leather.

Mark 3 - Laminate Rim (Riveted) Diameters: 13" (33.0cm), 14" (35.5cm), 15" (38cm), 16" (40.5cm) The Mark Three Wood Rim steering wheels, were the very first Moto-Lita range of wheels to be manufactured at our Surrey factory in 1957. Wheels from this range were supplied to many of the Classic British car makers such as A.C, Cooper, Healey, Jensen, MG Car Company and TVR to name a few.

The Offset Wood Rim - Laminate Rim (Riveted) Diameters: 14" (35.5cm) The Offset Wood Rim steering wheel is based on our popular Mark Three steering wheel, but the centre is offset, which gives more leg room and good instrument visibility. All steering wheels come supplied with a top ring and fixing screws.

Mahogany and Walnut Wood Rim Wheels

Leather Rim Wheels

Eagle 3 - Leather Rim Diameters: 14" (35.5cm) The Eagle Three wheels are offered with either a wood or leather rim. All can be supplied with a horn control cap of your choice.

Eagle 4 - Leather Rim Diameters: 14" (35.5cm) The Eagle Four is the classic British leather rim steering wheel. Standard leather colour is black and it can be supplied with horn control or centre cap of your choice.

GT40- Leather wheel Diameters: 14" (35.5cm), 15" (38cm) The original equipment GT40 wheel is available in 14" or 15" blue or black leather. It has an OE 6-bolt fitting, a hand sewn leather rim with a comfortable rubber underlay, stuck on leather spats and is supplied with thin slots in the spokes

Mark 4 - Hand Sewn Diameters: 10" (25.5.0cm), 11" (28.0cm), 11" (30.5.0cm), 13" (33.0cm), 14" (35.5cm), 15" (38cm) The Mark Four is the classic British leather rim steering wheel. It has a hand sewn leather rim with a comfortable rubber underlay. Standard leather colour is black; colours (if available are to special order only. All can be supplied with horn control or centre cap of your choice.

Racing Car Wheels Diameters: 10" (25.5.0cm), 11" (28.0cm), 11" (30.5.0cm) Moto-Lita manufacture a range of wheels suitable for racing cars. We are also able to reproduce wheels for classic racing cars – Bugatti, Cooper, Elva, Ferrari, GT40, Lola, Lotus and Maserati etc.

AC Ace OEM Diameters: 15" (38cm), 16" (40.5cm) Moto-Lita are proud to have supplied the AC Car Company in Thames Ditton during the 1960’s. Now we offer wheels both for the original and reproduction vehicles.

AC Cobra - 6 Bolt Diameters: 14" (35.5cm), 15" (38cm) Moto-Lita are proud to have supplied the AC Car Company in Thames Ditton during the 1960’s. Now we offer wheels both for the original and reproduction vehicles.

AC Cobra - OEM Split Centre Diameters: 15" (38cm), 16" (40.5cm) This is totally original Cobra wheel with 'Split Centre'.

Aston Martin OEM - Wood Rim Diameters: 15" (38cm), 16" (40.5cm) As original suppliers to Aston Martin we are well placed to continue manufacturing Aston Martin wood rim wheels. These fit original bosses of DB2/3/4/5 and 6 models. Please Note: We do not supply boss kits or accessories for this wheel. It is made to fit the original boss only.

Derrington OEM - MK2 Jaguar Diameters: 16" (40.5cm) As suppliers of steering wheels to VW Derrington Ltd, we are able to offer the original specification Jaguar steering wheel; accepts original horn bar. Please Note: This wheel is supplied as a complete kit, The steering wheel and the boss kit are included in the price (Boss Kits are supplied for MK2 Jaguar only). This wheel will accept the original Jaguar Horn Bar (Not Supplied).

Jaguar D-Type OEM Diameters: 15" (38cm), 16" (40.5cm) Moto-Lita manufacture original Jaguar D-Type wheels along with original bosses machined from billet aluminium. They can be supplied as original (and retaining adjusting facility) or to fit most steering columns.

Jaguar XKE Type - Custom (Leather Rim) Diameters: 14" (35.5cm), 15" (38cm) Leather rim, original fit specification Jaguar E-Type wheels for Series 1, 1.5 and 2. This wheel must be fitted to the original boss. We can supply original (OEM) boss and original (OEM) horn control if required. This option may also be fitted to series 3 V12 cars. Please note series 3 E-type requires very slight modification to horn control wiring (the horn contact will need to be lengthened by 17.5mm). This wheel must be fitted with the series 1-2 OEM boss kit and OEM horn control.

Jaguar XKE Type - Custom (Wood Rim Mk 3) Diameters: 14" (35.5cm), 15" (38cm) Laminated with rivetted rim, original fit specification Jaguar E-Type wheels for Series 1, 1.5 and 2. This wheel must be fitted to the original boss. We can supply original (OEM) boss and original (OEM) horn control if required. This option may also be fitted to series 3 V12 cars. Please note series 3 E-type requires very slight modification to horn control wiring (the horn contact will need to be lengthened by 17.5mm). This wheel must be fitted with the series 1-2 OEM boss kit and OEM horn control.

MGA OEM Works Steering Wheels Diameters: # All original specification MGA works mahogany woodrim wheel in original 17" (43cm) diameter only. Accepts original MGA wheel badge. Comes as a complete kit with a MGA Boss Kit.

Shelby Mustang OEM Diameters: 15" (38cm) Moto-Lita are proud to have supplied the Shelby American Company in USA during 1965 and 66. This is the totally original Shelby Mustang wheel; all wheels are dished with spokes finish in polished aluminium with Cobra slots. Please Note: We do not sell Boss Kits for this wheel, you will need the original Mustang Boss to fit the wheel.
